Piscataway Chiefs successfully defend their State Championship title

The Chiefs defeated the Minutemen of Elizabeth in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 NJSIAA State Finals. The game was very exciting with plays being made by both teams at a rapid rate. With 3:13 left in the game and a tie score of 34-34, overtime seemed inevitable. Then with the game clock at 1:02, Elizabeth intercepted a pass at their 25 yard line. The Minutemen moved the ball to midfield, only to give the ball back to Piscataway when Kyle LaPorte intercepted it and returned the ball to the Elizabeth 27 yard line. With 32 seconds left in the game, Tevin
Shaw ran the ball in for the game winning
touchdown to give the Chiefs a 41-34 victory.
